Many of my friends want to work for themselves.

⚡ Many of my friends want to work for themselves. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗵. Let me recap:

Last Wednesday 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 @‌𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲 into a fantastic company you’ll soon hear more about.

Immediately after that decision was made a client called me: they had lost a big contract and couldn’t pay my outstanding work. 𝗔𝗹𝘀𝗼, 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿.

When adapting our cash flow forecasting tool I found an error which cost us a bit of runway too.

Then another potential client mailed and canceled a promising opportunity. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻, but still a pain if it doesn’t appear :)

Do I feel stressed? I’d say you get used to the ups and downs of working for yourself. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗵𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵.

Am I worried? Nope: there is still huge demand for our core service: 𝗖𝗼-𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽. More organisations than ever are struggling with getting their innovations on the road and 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀-𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗴𝗼-𝘁𝗼-𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁. So, let’s go!

Hope that helped you understand a little bit what being an entrepreneur really feels like sometimes :)
